Being one of the few remaining natives of Cherokee county, Lance was raised around farm life. His grandfather was a farmer; not necessarily for a living per se, but as a lifestyle for survival. In his own way, Lance carries on the family tradition by raising pigs and ducks. The ducks were bought on the whim of his wife, and she thusly named them quackers and cricket. The ducks are much the same as having fish, pointless yet fun to watch.
Lance
Hansard earned a Masters Degree in Professional Writing from Kennesaw State
University. He resides in Canton, GA. with his wife of twenty years. This is
his first published novel. The inspiration for this book stems from his wife,
and his twenty plus years of service as a firefighter and paramedic. This is
the fourth published work in his writing portfolio that includes: novels,
children’s books, short stories, nonfiction, and poetry.
Lance has taught writing at Georgia Perimeter College, soon to be Georgia State University, for a year, but continues his career in the EMS field where has has worked for twenty plus years. In between paying the bills, he still finds time to write. His latest novel, still in progress, is an homage to the simple way of life in rural Georgia in the late 1940's.Lance has dedicated his life to love and the pursuit of happiness on his small piece of land that he refers to as his little slice of heaven. His wife thinks he's crazy, but somehow manages to love the man that she calls Peter Pan, the boy who never grew up, despite his wild ideas.
Love seeing my friend's lifelong dream of becoming a writer come true.
